Debera Mckee was born in Oakland California. She attended California College Of Arts And Crafts in Oakland, beginning at age 13 on a scholarship for directing and editing a movie called,"I was an elementary school ware-wolf". Her college years also began at College Of Arts And Crafts where she began in the fine arts field then went into the graphics design department. She has had the opportunity to study with many creative painters and designers and has never parted from her desire to express an idea or image as most artist would agree,"We feel we have a right to be heard or seen".

Currently the work I've been doing are from photos that I have taken. I tend to paint in a surrealistic impressionistic form, I like using iridescent paint so as to create layers of images. In my paintings one is able to see more figures or images within the whole of the paintings, I also try to re-create my dreams on canvas.
